Chronic prostatitis

Supplements studied for chronic prostatitis.

Overview

Lycopene appears only in combination for chronic prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain in this review. One eight-week trial of Proinfluenzass, containing lycopene, selenium, and saw palmetto, cut pain scores by about half compared with baseline, while saw palmetto alone reduced pain by roughly a quarter.

It is unclear which component drove the greater benefit in the combination product, and the trial did not isolate lycopene. Standalone lycopene evidence for chronic prostatitis is not available. See the evidence review below for trial details.
