Pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy
Supplements studied for pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy.
Overview
Vitamin B6 (2 studies) is the established treatment for pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy, a rare seizure disorder in newborn babies that does not respond to standard anticonvulsants. Seizures in this condition typically stop quickly when vitamin B6 is given intravenously. The disorder may be inherited or occur when the mother took high doses of vitamin B6 during pregnancy.
