Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS)
Supplements studied for postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
Overview
Evidence for supplements in postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is limited to a single study of Melatonin. In that trial, a one-time 3 mg dose lowered heart rate when sitting or standing for a few hours but did not improve symptoms or change blood pressure. It is not clear whether regular nightly melatonin would offer more benefit.
With only one small study available, supplement evidence for POTS remains preliminary. The heatmap and evidence reviews below summarize what is known.
