Atopy
Supplements studied for atopy.
Overview
Only Vitamin A is indexed for atopy, with two low-rated studies (WA 32) for effect size and evidence and medium trust.
A one-time infant vitamin A dose does not appear to lower the risk of developing atopic allergies such as eczema or wheezing. In fact, some vulnerable infants—including those with low birth weight or who received certain vaccines—showed a higher chance of wheezing and allergies after vitamin A in available research.
Evidence is limited and does not support vitamin A for atopy prevention. See the evidence reviews below for details.
