Only N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is indexed for adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), with one low-rated study (DEX Score 40) for effect size, evidence, and trust.
It is not yet proven whether oral or intravenous NAC helps people with ALD. A small study in three male children suggested NAC may have extended survival and stabilized brain health after stem cell treatment, but the evidence is preliminary and cannot confirm benefit.
