SupplementDEX

Allergic Rhinitis

Supplements studied for allergic rhinitis.

Overview

Six supplements are indexed for allergic rhinitis across six studies, most with low ratings.

Curcumin has the strongest signal (DEX Score 56, medium ratings): one trial of 500 mg daily for two months reduced sneezing, itching, runny nose, and congestion versus placebo. Astragalus, Brewer's Yeast (EpiCor), Fulvic Acid, and Ginger (DEX Score 44; low effect size, low evidence, medium trust) each have single small studies suggesting possible symptom relief, but trust remains low.

Ginger matched loratadine for nasal symptoms in one small trial, while EpiCor appeared to help congestion but not eye symptoms or sneezing. See the heatmap and evidence reviews below for full ratings.
