It is not clear if taking vitamin B6 helps reduce high prolactin levels caused by antipsychotic medications.
However, a study in men taking antipsychotics found that taking a high dose of vitamin B6 (300 mg twice a day) for 16 weeks lowered their blood prolactin levels by 68%.
This was better than the 37% reduction seen in patients who took the medication aripiprazole.
About 67% of those taking vitamin B6 had prolactin levels fall below normal levels, compared to only 2% of those on aripiprazole.
More research is needed to confirm these benefits.

A randomized trial of 100 patients with schizophrenia found that 10 mg/day for 16 weeks compared with the ARI group, TRS patients given vB6 showed better attenuation of AIHP, lower ASE scores, and greater improvements in clinical symptoms and cognitive impairments.
