Overview

Methionine (1 study) has not been tested alone for shingles. One small trial found that after standard antiviral treatment, adding a supplement containing L-methionine and other nutrients helped skin heal faster, lowered the chance of shingles recurrence, and eased nerve pain compared with antiviral medicine alone.
