Overview
L-Carnitine (1 study) was tested in hospitalized young children aged 9 to 24 months with severe acute malnutrition in Bangladesh. Children who received L-carnitine syrup at 100 mg/kg daily for 15 days alongside usual care did not gain weight faster or leave the hospital sooner than those given placebo.
