Diaper Rash

Supplements studied for diaper rash.

Overview

Zinc has medium evidence for diaper rash (WA 56, two studies, medium effect, evidence, and trust). In one trial, oral zinc gluconate 10 mg daily for four months reduced rash incidence in infants compared with placebo. Topical zinc oxide paste (47%) over five days also aided healing, although eosin 2% cleared rash faster in the same research.

Creams containing zinc oxide combined with vitamin E may work better than zinc alone in some comparisons. Overall, zinc by mouth or on the skin appears to help prevent and manage diaper rash. See the evidence reviews below for full details.
