Astragalus

Astragalus is a traditional herb studied for immune and fatigue-related outcomes. Clinical evidence is mixed.

Overview

What is Astragalus?

Astragalus membranaceus, known as huangqi in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), is a widely used herb with anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, and anti-aging properties. It contains bioactive compounds such as polysaccharides, flavonoids, and saponins that enhance immune function, reduce inflammation, and combat oxidative stress. Often used alone or combined with other herbs, astragalus supports vitality, stamina, and resistance to physical and emotional stress, making it a key adaptogen in TCM.
