What is Alpha-linolenic acid?
Alpha-linolenic acid is an omega-3 fatty acid commonly found in flaxseed oil, walnuts and canola oil.
Dosage
The recommended daily intake of alpha-linolenic acid is 1.3 grams per day for males and 0.8 grams for females, with doses rising to 1.0–1.2 grams per day for lactating or pregnant women.
The optimal dosage of alpha-linolenic acid for specific health outcomes is unknown.
