Type 1 type-2-diabetes
Supplements studied for type 1 type-2-diabetes.
Overview
Vitamin D is the most studied supplement related to type 1 type-2-diabetes, though evidence remains limited. Some research suggests giving vitamin D daily to infants during their first year may lower the chance of developing type 1 type-2-diabetes later in life by about 29%, based on a review of multiple studies.
Multivitamin and Taurine have insufficient evidence for this condition, with only one study each and no demonstrated benefit. All three supplements carry low effect-size, evidence, and trust ratings. See the heatmap and evidence reviews below for more detail.
