Overview
Vitamin A is the only supplement indexed for intestinal parasite infection (1 study; WA 32; very low effect size, low evidence, medium trust). The trial focused on whether a single high oral dose of vitamin A could prevent children from getting intestinal parasites again after worm treatment.
Adding vitamin A did not lower reinfection rates compared with no extra treatment in that study of treated children. With only one trial showing no preventive benefit, vitamin A is not supported for parasite reinfection prevention here. See the evidence review below.
