Overview

What is resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a compound found in many plant sources including blueberries, red wine and grapes. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that benefit cardiovascular function, glycemic control, and lipid metabolism. There is limited evidence from high quality human studies that resveratrol is beneficial for longevity.

Dosage

A typical dose of resveratrol is 100–3,000 mg per day. Higher doses of up to 5,000 mg per day have been used but may cause gastrointestinal upset.
