Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Supplements studied for Urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Overview
Six supplements have been studied for urinary tract infections across a small set of trials. In one small study of women with uncomplicated cystitis, green tea 2000 mg daily for three days alongside antibiotics led to fewer symptoms compared with placebo. N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) alone has not been studied for UTIs; in one trial, a combination of D-mannose, NAC, and noni fruit with antibiotics reduced recurrent UTIs and eased urinary symptoms more than antibiotics alone in breast cancer survivors.
Other indexed signals include Vitamin D, Astragalus, Vitamin A, and L-Carnitine. Most carry limited evidence. See the heatmap and evidence reviews below for full ratings across all supplements.
